Needs and Challenges Of The Church Today

Last week we looked at some of the problems the early church faced. The church today also faces many challenges, and has many needs. Below are some things that I believe are needs, and challenges of the church today. Please consider each of these points, and if you agree that they are needs, or challenges of the church today, state: why they are a needs, or challenges of the church; how the church needs to meet them; and what will happen if they do, or do not.

NEEDS
  1. Good leadership.
  2. Better Bible knowledge.
  3. Better:
    1. Prepared preachers.
    2. Prepared teachers.
    3. Bible class material.
  4. Greater commitment by its members.
  5. More love between its members.
  6. Real understanding of what it means that, "Jesus is Lord."
  7. Stronger faith in God.
  8. Confidence by its members that they can do what God asks.
CHALLENGES
  1. Denominationalism.
  2. Evolution/ Theistic Evolution / Athiesm.
  3. Humanism.
  4. Declining social morals.
  5. Liberalism
  6. Attacks on the Bible:
    1. New hermaneutics.
    2. Inspiration.
    3. Canonization.
    4. Only inspired book.
